Suspected Fraudster Kills Friend in Delta After Dispute Over $1,000 Transaction.

A suspected internet fraudster
commonly referred to as a “Yahoo boy”is reported to have killed his friend in Delta State following a dispute over a $1,000 transaction, police and community sources said.

According to preliminary accounts, the incident happened after the two young men, who were reportedly close associates, began arguing over the handling and repayment of money linked to an online deal. The disagreement escalated, and in the course of the confrontation the suspect allegedly attacked his friend, resulting in the victim’s death.

Delta State Police confirmed that the suspect was arrested at the scene and taken into custody for questioning. The force’s spokesperson said detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing, including the nature of the financial transaction and the events that led to the fatal outcome.

Local residents expressed shock at the incident, saying they were disturbed that a disagreement over money could end in such tragedy. Community leaders called for calm and urged authorities to carry out a thorough and transparent investigation.
