Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) has successfully foiled several attempts by vandals to sabotage oil and gas pipelines across parts of Rivers State.
The company disclosed that the incidents occurred in Bonny, Eteo (Eleme), Ikata, and Ogbo communities, but were swiftly averted through enhanced vigilance and the use of community-based intelligence networks.
According to PINL, its proactive surveillance strategy, which involves close collaboration with local stakeholders and security agencies, has been instrumental in protecting critical energy assets in the Niger Delta.
The company further noted that early detection and rapid response mechanisms were key to thwarting the recent attempts, preventing potential environmental damage and economic losses.
PINL reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s oil and gas infrastructure while promoting peaceful coexistence with host communities.
It also urged residents to continue supporting efforts to safeguard national assets by reporting suspicious activities around pipeline facilities.
