Over 52 AAU Ekpoma Students Arrested After Protesting Incessant Kidnappings in Edo.

No fewer than 52 students of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, have been arrested following a protest against the alleged rise in kidnappings across parts of the state.

The students were said to have staged a peaceful demonstration to draw attention to growing security concerns and to demand stronger action from authorities to protect residents and students. However, reports indicate that security operatives later tracked the protesters to their hostels in the middle of the night, where they were arrested.

According to sources, the arrested students were arraigned in court on Monday, paraded before the court, and subsequently remanded in prison pending further legal proceedings.
