
The Kano State Government has suspended three health personnel following the death of a woman after a surgical procedure at a public health facility in the state.
State health officials confirmed that the suspension was approved to allow for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The affected personnel were reportedly part of the medical team involved in the surgery.
According to preliminary reports, the woman underwent a routine surgical procedure but developed complications shortly after the operation and was later pronounced dead. The incident sparked concern among relatives and members of the public, prompting the government to order an immediate probe.
The state Ministry of Health said an investigative panel has been set up to review medical records, interview staff involved, and determine whether standard medical protocols were followed before, during, and after the surgery.
