
A 45-year-old man has been rescued after falling into a deep well at Odo-Ogbo, Oja Agbe area of Iseyin in Oyo State. The incident, which caused panic among residents, occurred on Thursday and prompted an immediate emergency response.
Officials of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Iseyin Command, were swiftly deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call from members of the community. The rescue team worked diligently to retrieve the victim from the well using specialized equipment and safety ropes.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was attempting to fetch water when he accidentally slipped and fell into the well. Residents quickly alerted authorities when efforts to bring him out proved unsuccessful.
The Fire Services confirmed that the operation was successful and that the victim was pulled out alive with minor injuries. He was later handed over to family members for medical attention.
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency used the opportunity to warn residents to exercise caution around open wells and water sources, especially during the dry season, to prevent similar accidents.
