The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for 2025 admissions into public universities to November 17, allowing more time for schools to finalise their processes.
According to the board, the decision came after several universities appealed for an extension due to internal screening delays and departmental verifications that slowed down admission procedures.
The new date gives institutions additional flexibility to process and upload admission lists to the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before the window closes.
JAMB clarified that the adjustment applies exclusively to public universities, while private institutions are expected to maintain their previously scheduled timelines. The board also urged all schools to make good use of the extra time and ensure that no eligible candidate is left out.
With this change, all public universities are expected to complete their admission offers and approvals by November 17, ahead of preparations for the next academic session.
