Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical has commenced nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a pump price of ₦739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations.
The development marks a major step in the distribution of petrol refined locally by the Dangote facility, following weeks of anticipation within the downstream oil sector. Motorists across the country began accessing the product at MRS outlets as the rollout took effect.
Industry watchers say the move is expected to influence pricing dynamics in the petroleum market, especially as more locally refined products enter circulation. The refinery’s PMS is being positioned as a cleaner alternative that meets international fuel standards.
Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest single-train refinery, has been ramping up operations with the aim of reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported fuel and easing pressure on foreign exchange.
More filling stations are expected to join the distribution network in the coming weeks as supply expands nationwide.
