Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu, has criticized Nigeria’s senior military officers and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, following the Canadian government’s visa denial of the Chief of Defence Staff and other officers.
Reacting to reports that about 70 Nigerian officers had planned to attend the Winter Games in Canada, Odinkalu questioned the rationale behind their trip.
“What were 70 officers going to do at the Winter Games in Canada? How foolish and irresponsible are we supposed to be?” he wrote, condemning the move as a misuse of resources.
