Gov Yusuf Explores Moroccan Partnership.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has embarked on a strategic working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco to explore bilateral partnerships that could fast-track economic development in the state.

The visit, confirmed in a statement on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, focused on fostering collaborations in critical sectors, including agricultural mechanisation, fertilizer production, renewable energy, and the creative industry, particularly Islamic-themed filmmaking.

During the trip, Governor Yusuf is expected to hold high-level meetings with Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Energy, where discussions will center on Morocco’s strides in agricultural transformation and sustainable energy.

The engagements are aimed at facilitating the transfer of advanced technologies and models that could be tailored to meet Kano’s developmental needs.

The governor will also meet with stakeholders at the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to pitch Kano State as a viable destination for investment in agribusiness, energy, and tourism. He is expected to present Kano as a strategic entry point to the broader West African market.

In a bid to promote cultural diplomacy and diversify the state’s economy, Governor Yusuf will explore partnership opportunities within Morocco’s creative sector, focusing on faith-based film production that aligns with Islamic values.
