His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, the revered monarch of Offa, Kwara State, Nigeria, has issued a stirring call to the wealthy indigenes of Offa to utilize their resources in assisting the less privileged members of the community. This passionate appeal was made during the Eid-el-Kabir (Ileya) Festival celebrations at the Yidi gathering in Offa.

In his address, the monarch emphasized the importance of giving and helping others, highlighting that collective growth and development can only be achieved when the less fortunate are lifted up. He urged the affluent indigenes to redirect their focus from accumulating wealth in banks to supporting those in need, thereby fostering a sense of community and social responsibility.

HRM OLOFA OF OFFA.

The monarch’s words resonated with the audience, emphasizing that “we rise by lifting others.” This message serves as a reminder of the significance of philanthropy and community service in promoting the well-being of society.

Chief IMAM of OFFA.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s “bromance” appears to have officially come to an end and both men are now slinging mud at each other.

In new tweets, Elon Musk has claimed that the reason the US administration has not released the Epstein Files in full is because President Donald Trump is mentioned in them.

“@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,” he said in a post on Thursday night, June 5, on X.

He signed off his tweet with “Have a nice day, DJT!”

That is a reference to the Justice Department records concerning the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly procured underage girls for s£x for a string of famous names.

The Tesla and SpaceX chief was a former close advisor of Trump and headed the newly-created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) before his departure last week.

DOGE, a controversial department, was tasked with shrinking the government and saw thousands of federal jobs axed.

Since his departure, he has taken a swipe at Trump’s tax-cut and spending bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination.”

In a post on Truth Social on Thursday evening, Trump said he had asked Musk to leave the administration, saying he was “wearing thin” and accusing him of going “CRAZY!”

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has called on Nigerian universities to examine how the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike,
secured a position in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet despite being a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Speaking at the 2025 Distinguished Personality Lecture held at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Thursday, the monarch expressed his astonishment over Wike’s political trajectory, describing his ministerial appointment under an All Progressives Congress-led government as a “mystery.”

“For your career, I will particularly say that I give a very strong honour to the father of the nation, President Bola Tinubu,” the Ooni said while addressing Wike, who served as the keynote speaker at the event.

“You belong to a different political party and yet are able to work together. You are part of this government. It is still a mystery. I don’t even know how it happened.

“For me, it is something that universities should be studying and I mean it. It’s very important.

“Hate him or like him, what will be, will be. He (Wike) is a politician to be studied. I don’t know how he’s been actively relevant for 20 years,” Ooni said.

The traditional ruler acknowledged that while Wike may have critics, he is widely respected for his boldness and resilience.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that Wike would deliver the 2025 Distinguished Personality Lecture at OAU.

The event, held at the university’s Oduduwa Hall, featured Wike speaking on the theme, “Nigeria of Our Dreams.”

According to a statement from Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, the invitation was officially extended to Wike in a letter dated April 14, 2025, signed by the university’s Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. K. A. Bakare.

The Anambra State Government has ordered the immediate closure of Community Secondary School, Awor-Ezimuzor, in Ezinifite, Nnewi South Local Government Area, following the alleged arrest and detention of the school’s principal and vice principal by the local vigilante group.

It was gathered that they were detained for three days by the community’s vigilante group without access to food, water or toilet facilities.

Although details of their arrest were not disclosed, the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, ordered the closure in a statement released on Thursday.

The statement read, “The state government has directed the immediate and temporary closure of Community Secondary School Awor-Ezimuzor, Ezinifite, Nnewi South LGA.

The closure follows disturbing reports of the unlawful arrest, torture and detention of the principal and vice principal of the school.”

Chuma-Udeh said the school would remain shut until the safety of the school principal, VP, staff and students was fully guaranteed.

She said she had invited the Chairman and Secretary of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission for an urgent meeting to address the matter.

According to her, the board member representing Nnewi zone, the zonal director, Nnewi zone, the management of the school and the President-General of Awor-Ezimuzor, Ezinifite Town Union, were also invited to the meeting.

Nigeria needs leaders like Tinubu to achieve national dreams – Wike. https://nijatravels.com/nigeria-needs-leaders-like-tinubu-to-achieve-national-dreams-wike/ https://nijatravels.com/nigeria-needs-leaders-like-tinubu-to-achieve-national-dreams-wike/#respond Fri, 06 Jun 2025 11:52:38 +0000 https://nijatravels.com/?p=2801

“Also, the overwhelming cry of over-centralisation of power and resources at the national level and the attendant abuse of the doctrine of federalism is being systematically addressed.

“This is being addressed through the creation of zonal/regional commissions empowered to devolve developmental impetus to the respective zones and regions, so that power can truly return to the people.”

On security, Wike said that the situation was being addressed through proper funding and the training and retraining of security forces.

The minister added that Tinubu’s approval for the recruitment of forest guards across the country to take charge of the nation’s forests, bandits and terrorists would no longer find incubation points and free territories to operate.

“Put simply, the era of banditry and terrorism will soon come to an end. These and many other policies and measures are being put together by Tinubu to reposition our country on the path of progress and development,” Wike said.

Earlier, Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun, described Wike as a straightforward politician, adding that his wealth of political experience and leadership style was exemplary.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, the governor said that the minister’s infrastructural transformation in the FCT was visionary.

Also, the Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Adebayo Bamire, said that the theme of the lecture, ‘’Nigeria of our Dream” was timely and thought-provoking.

“At a critical juncture when our nation’s democratic journey, when the challenges of governance, civic trust, and equitable development are at the forefront of public discourse, this lecture offers a vital platform for reflection, engagement and forward thinking.

“It calls us to interrogate the structures that uphold democracy, the principles that guide responsible governance, citizenship and the strategies that can unlock Nigeria’s development potential,” he said.

The Royal Father of the Day, Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, said he has deep respect for Wike because of his fearlessness.

He described the minister as an “upright politician” who “said things as they are.

“Hate him; like him – what will be will be.

Ohanaeze Youth Leader Slams Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, Labels Him “Kitchen Slave” https://nijatravels.com/ohanaeze-youth-leader-slams-sen-orji-uzor-kalu-labels-him-kitchen-slave/ https://nijatravels.com/ohanaeze-youth-leader-slams-sen-orji-uzor-kalu-labels-him-kitchen-slave/#respond Thu, 05 Jun 2025 08:51:08 +0000 https://nijatravels.com/?p=2798

The National President Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) the Apex sociocultural Youth organization of Igbo Race worldwide Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka has described Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North and formerly Governor of Abia State, as a “Kitchen Slave” in Nigeria’s political hierarchy.

Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka made this statement in response to questions regarding the viral video in which Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu explicitly states, “We don’t want this country to break, we don’t want the country to break. We want the country to continue being our country, I love the country I am a product of this country, and I am very proud that I am a Nigerian”

In a reaction to the above controversial statement made by Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka stated thus; “Sadly, in today’s Nigeria, mainly in Igbo land, Orji Uzor Kalu does not possess the requisite integrity to represent or speak for Ndigbo, seemingly motivated by a desire to gain favor with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for personal advantage.

Orji Uzor Kalu improperly used the phrase “we don’t want Nigeria to break”. What individuals are part of this “we”? Who is Orji Uzor Kalu speaking for?
As the representative of Abia North Senatorial District, does Orji Uzor Kalu’s statement “we don’t want Nigeria to break” reflect the views of Abia North?

Indeed, over fifty million Igbo youths, whom I represent under the auspices of Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC), are advocating for Biafra or a separate nation for Ndigbo. Consequently, the Indigenous People of Biafra, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, have been demanding a referendum in Nigeria through a non-violent movement.

I challenge Orji Uzor Kalu to convene a constituency briefing in his Senatorial District, Abia North, and include an option A4 vote to determine whether Abia North desires Nigeria’s continued unity or separation.

If Orji Uzor Kalu wins the election, I will take immediate action to relinquish my Nigerian citizenship and enter into compulsory exile. In contrast, if the opposing faction in Abia North Senatorial District, which seeks Nigeria’s dissolution, emerges victorious, Orji Uzor Kalu will be held accountable for his alleged transgressions.

Orji Uzor Kalu, what is the rationale behind Nigerian unity when non-native groups, notably the Fulani, engage in ethnic cleansing and jihadist wars against indigenous tribes, causing devastation in the Middle Belt and beyond, even affecting Enugu and Ebonyi State? Does this segregation foster an environment conducive to national unity?

I question Orji Uzor Kalu, can these sets of political profiteers, prodigality masquerading at the corridor of power in Nigeria, cheap political ” Kitchen Slaves” to western power navigate the route of survival to Nigerians?

Since Orji Uzor Kalu’s controversially rigged into the Senate, allegedly facilitated by INEC, he has not convened a constituency briefing to gauge the living conditions and economic hardships of Abia North residents.

To be a representative of the people is not merely about making sycophantic speeches on camera like Orji Uzor Kalu, but rather to engage with the constituents to understand their concerns, needs and expectations, and to advocate for them at the Nigeria national assembly.
Orji Uzor Kalu has not held a constituency briefing in Abia North to ascertain the actual problems in that constituency.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s assertion that he is a product of Nigeria is misleading, as his 8-year governorship of Abia was marked by corruption, ineptitude, and reckless spending. In fact he’s the most prodigal Governor in Abia State.

Igbo man to rise in national politics, Senator Rochas Anayo Ethelbert Okorocha (Owelle) should have become the President of Nigeria.

It is essential for every Igbo “Kitchen Slave” in Igboland like Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, to learn from history in order to avoid the risk of returning home in disappointment and shame.
It’s very easy to use legs and walk across the Atlantic Ocean but it’s a life threatening task and a risk to be an Igbo man in Nigeria.

We will monitor the situation closely until Nigeria ultimately reaches a breaking point or loses total stability. Today Nigeria is already like a ship severely hit by a tornado.

Trump Administration Announces Travel Ban for Citizens of 12 Countries. https://nijatravels.com/trump-administration-announces-travel-ban-for-citizens-of-12-countries/ https://nijatravels.com/trump-administration-announces-travel-ban-for-citizens-of-12-countries/#respond Thu, 05 Jun 2025 08:49:05 +0000 https://nijatravels.com/?p=2794

President Donald Trump has signed a new proclamation barring citizens from 12 countries from entering the United States, citing national security concerns.

The full travel ban affects nationals from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

The restriction will take effect on June 9, 2025.

In addition to the full bans, the proclamation imposes partial restrictions on citizens of Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.

There are some exemptions, including athletes travelling for major sporting events, some Afghan nationals and dual nationals with citizenship in unaffected countries, according to the BBC.

Trump stated that the measure is intended to prevent individuals considered potential security risks from gaining entry into the US.

“We cannot have open migration from any country where we cannot safely and reliably vet and screen,” he said in a video message posted on X on Wednesday.

According to the White House, the countries facing the harshest restrictions were deemed to have a “large-scale presence of terrorists,” poor cooperation on visa-related security measures, and inadequate systems for verifying travelers’ identities.

The administration also cited issues such as poor record-keeping of criminal histories and high visa overstay rates as contributing factors.

The new directive builds on Trump’s broader immigration crackdown initiated at the beginning of his second term.

On January 20, the president signed an executive order mandating stricter security checks for foreign nationals and instructing federal agencies to review which countries should face entry suspensions due to inadequate vetting procedures.

This move echoes Trump’s controversial travel ban during his first term, which initially targeted seven predominantly Muslim countries and was upheld by the US Supreme Court in 2018.

The ban was later repealed by President Joe Biden in 2021, who described it as “a stain on our national conscience.”

Unity Cup Final: Peter Obi Allegedly Barred from Celebrating with Super Eagles in London. https://nijatravels.com/unity-cup-final-peter-obi-allegedly-barred-from-celebrating-with-super-eagles-in-london/ https://nijatravels.com/unity-cup-final-peter-obi-allegedly-barred-from-celebrating-with-super-eagles-in-london/#respond Thu, 05 Jun 2025 08:46:15 +0000 https://nijatravels.com/?p=2790

A moment meant to unify Nigerians through sport turned politically charged on Saturday, May 31, when former presidential candidate and Labour Party leader, Mr. Peter Obi, was reportedly barred from celebrating with the Nigerian national football team following their victory over Jamaica in the Unity Cup Final at Brentford Community Stadium, London.

The incident was detailed by political commentator and Obi ally, Maazi Ezeoke, who accompanied the former Anambra State Governor to the match after attending a fireside chat hosted by the Africa Business Club at the London Business School. The event, titled “From Promise to Prosperity: Charting Africa’s Development with Political Will and Vision,” featured Obi as a keynote speaker.

According to Ezeoke, Obi’s entrance at the stadium was met with overwhelming excitement from Nigerian fans, many of whom began chanting his name during the intense penalty shootout that decided the match. In an effort to avoid distracting from the game, Obi reportedly stepped away from his seat, continuing to support the Super Eagles from a discreet position.

After Nigeria’s hard-fought victory, some event officials invited Obi to join the team’s post-match photo session. However, Ezeoke recounted a sudden and dramatic shift in tone: after a phone call, one official allegedly returned with stern instructions, shouting, “He is not allowed to take pictures with the team!”

Sponsored Advert.

The refusal, coming just moments after the same officials had appeared enthusiastic about Obi’s presence, raised eyebrows among observers. “It was clear someone had given a directive,” Ezeoke said. The situation escalated when a Nigerian player attempted to greet Mr. Obi, only to be stopped by security, reportedly acting on similar orders. “You have been told not to greet him!” a voice allegedly boomed from the pitch.

Ezeoke described the player as visibly upset, walking off the field straight into the dressing room. Further efforts to allow Obi to meet the team privately were also allegedly blocked.

Despite the political tension, Obi remained composed, continuing to take photos and interact with jubilant Nigerian and Jamaican fans outside the official team circle.

Reflecting on the incident, Ezeoke wrote: “Even in football, a sport meant to unite us, politics has been weaponised. That moment deepened my resolve: In 2027, we must build a country where no one is silenced based on party affiliation.”
