The Nkwado Oha Skills Development Programme is a landmark initiative designed to tackle youth unemployment and promote inclusive economic growth through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Kicking off in July 2025, the program aims to train over 500 young men and women in world-class vocational skillsets, with a strategic emphasis on technical construction trades — including plumbing, masonry, tiling, electrical installation, welding, and carpentry — that are vital to Nigeria’s infrastructure and housing sectors.
Spearheaded by the Enugu SME Center in partnership with GIZ SKYE and Godfrey Okoye University, the program is part of a broader state-wide commitment to reimagine skills development and job creation. It also directly complements the operationalization of the Enugu Science, Technical and Vocational Schools Management Board, which will soon coordinate all TVET institutions across the state, ensuring standardization, quality control, and scalability.
Nkwado Oha represents more than just training — it is about building a future-ready workforce, igniting entrepreneurship, and restoring dignity through skill. It is a bold step toward transforming youthful energy into productive power and positioning Enugu as a national hub for skilled labor and innovation.
