
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received strong endorsement from Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the APC National Summit organized by the Progressive Governors Forum today. Speaking before party leaders and top lawmakers, Akpabio praised Tinubu’s leadership through the challenges of 2023 and expressed optimism that the country is on the path to a major turnaround by 2027.
Akpabio emphasized that only the National Assembly has the constitutional authority to pass resolutions with the force of law, reinforcing the importance of legislative backing for the president’s policies. He called on fellow lawmakers to continue supporting Tinubu, saying the voice of the legislature is key in validating the president’s performance.
In a humorous aside, Akpabio revealed that a senator from the Labour Party privately expressed a desire to join the APC, suggesting that Tinubu’s leadership is attracting even opposition figures.
“More states are coming, more people are joining,” Akpabio said confidently. “Mr. President, Nigerians are beginning to see the change, and 2027 looks promising.
