The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has defended its airport cab vehicle upgrade policy and revised operational tariff, saying the measures are aimed at improving passenger safety and service quality rather than punishing operators.In a statement on Friday, the authority also said the October 2026 deadline for operators to upgrade their vehicles remains in place, noting that the policy had been communicated to stakeholders since July 2024The clarification comes amid opposition by some airport cab operators over the vehicle upgrade requirement and the increase in operational charges.The agency had insisted that the measures were necessary to improve service delivery and align Nigerian airports with international best practices
