The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has expressed confidence in the smooth and peaceful conduct of the FCT Area Council elections, reassuring voters that security measures remain robust across the capital territory.
Nijatravel reports that NSCDC officials overseeing the polls emphasized the professionalism and neutrality of their personnel, who are deployed in strategic locations across all six councils — Abaji, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kwali, Kuje, and Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). The corps highlighted that their main priority is to protect voters, electoral materials, and officials, ensuring a credible electoral process.
According to the NSCDC, reports from polling units across the territory indicate that voters are exercising their civic rights without major disruptions or security challenges. The corps praised the coordination with other security agencies, which has contributed to a calm and orderly voting environment.
