The family of High Chief John Oluwafemi Olayinka, a highly respected elder and community leader, has released the full programme of events for his funeral rites.
According to the official announcement, the funeral activities will commence on Friday, 6 February 2026, with a Christian wake-keep scheduled to take place at the residence of the late High Chief, located at No. 24 Iludi Street, Osi-Ekiti, beginning at 4:00 pm. The wake-keep is expected to feature hymns, prayers, and tributes in honour of the life and legacy of the deceased.
The programme will continue on Saturday, 7 February 2026, with a funeral church service at the Methodist Church, Osi-Ekiti, starting promptly at 10:00 am. Clergy members, family representatives, and community leaders are expected to participate in the service.
Following the church service, a reception and entertainment for guests will hold immediately at the Osi Event Centre, situated along Iropora Road, Osi-Ekiti, where family members will receive sympathisers.
The family has extended a formal invitation to relatives, friends, associates, traditional leaders, and members of the general public to attend the funeral ceremonies and join them in celebrating a life of longevity, service, and impact.
They also expressed appreciation for the prayers, support, and goodwill shown to the family and urged all attendees to be orderly and respectful throughout the duration of the events.
