Super Eagles Resume Training After One-Day Strike Over Unpaid Allowances.

After staging a one-day strike over unpaid allowances, the Super Eagles have returned to training ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup African playoff clash against Gabon today.

The players, who had earlier boycotted Monday’s session to press home their demand for outstanding payments, resumed camp activities yesterday following assurances from team officials that the issue would be resolved.

Sources close to the team said the players’ action was meant to draw attention to lingering welfare concerns that have persisted despite repeated promises from the football authorities.

Team officials, however, expressed confidence that the brief standoff would not affect Nigeria’s focus or morale as they seek to secure a positive result in today’s encounter.

The match, scheduled to hold at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, is seen as a vital step in the Super Eagles’ campaign to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
