EMIRATES GROUNDS FLIGHTS AS TYPHOON RAGASA APPROACHES.

Dubai, 22 September 2025 As Super Typhoon Ragasa barrels toward southern China, Emirates Airline has taken pre-emptive action, canceling a series of flights between Dubai and the cities of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The move, which covers services scheduled from 23 to 25 September, comes as authorities brace for one of the most dangerous storms of the year.

Several key routes have been suspended, including Dubai–Hong Kong flights EK380, EK381, EK382, and EK383, along with Dubai–Shenzhen flights EK328 and EK329. The airline has also halted its Hong Kong–Bangkok shuttle for 23 and 24 September. Passengers booked on these routes have been advised that they will not be accepted for travel at their original point of departure until further notice.

Meteorologists warn that Ragasa is expected to make landfall with destructive winds of more than 185 kilometers per hour, along with heavy rainfall and storm surges that could paralyze air and sea traffic in the region. Hong Kong International Airport is preparing for a 36-hour suspension of passenger flights starting Tuesday evening.

Emirates has urged travelers to check their booking status through its website or app and to contact either the airline directly or their travel agents for rebooking options. With the storm’s path still uncertain, officials caution that even flights not yet listed as canceled could face sudden changes, delays, or further suspensions.
