Luka Modrić Bids Emotional Farewell to Real Madrid Fans Ahead of Final Bernabéu Appearance.

After more than a decade of unforgettable memories, Luka Modrić has penned an emotional farewell letter to Real Madrid fans as he prepares to play his final match at the Santiago Bernabéu this Saturday.

The Croatian midfield maestro, who joined the club in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur, announced that his illustrious journey with Los Blancos is coming to an end—marking the close of one of the most successful eras in the club’s history.

In his heartfelt message, Modrić wrote, “Time has come. The moment I never wanted to come, but that’s football, and in life everything has a beginning and an end.”

He reflected on his arrival with ambition and dreams, but admitted he never imagined the magnitude of success and joy he would come to experience at the Spanish capital. During his 13-year tenure, Modrić helped lead Real Madrid to an era of unprecedented success, including multiple UEFA Champions League titles, La Liga crowns, and numerous other domestic and international honors.

“Playing at Real Madrid changed my life as a soccer player and as a person,” Modrić noted, adding that he was leaving with a heart “filled with pride, gratitude and unforgettable memories.”

Modrić, now 39, also thanked Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, his teammates, coaches, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his career. But it was his deep bond with the fans that stood out most in his message.

“I really don’t know how to explain the special connection I have with you and how supported, respected and loved I have felt and feel. I will never forget each ovation and all the gestures of affection you have shown me.”

Although he will no longer wear the iconic white jersey after the Club World Cup, Modrić affirmed that he will forever remain a loyal Madridista.
